Day One

After a restless night wondering if we have everything organised we took Rocky to the kennel and then headed to the airport to catch the 12:15 Flight to Abu Dhabi with a stop in Singapore.
We were pretty tired by the time we got to our hotel in Abu Dhabi but only had about six hours sleep before we were picked up again and taken to the airport to catch the flight for the next leg of our trip to Istanbul.
This is the view out over Abu Dhabi as we boarded our plane. The unusual building in the background is the airport control tower.
We were interested to see the spectacular Marina Circuit on Yas Island ready for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.  http://www.yasmarinacircuit.com/

    We are having a very interesting trip Nick. Some of the buildings we have seen are thousands of years old. It has been raining lots but it is not too cold so that is good.
    I hope you and Mum had a good holiday in Canada too.
