Gallipoli


Lone Pine
Drove along the sea of Marmara to Gallipoli.  Emotional viewing of Anzac Cove and the gravestones of the Aussies buried there.  Even found Simpons' grave on the beach site.  Can really understand why the campaign was so very very difficult and in the end futile.
Spend the night in Canakkale (pronounced Chanackarly) at a very nice hotel on the edge of the Dardanelles.
